As United States involvement in two wars continues into another year, we have an increasing number of military veterans returning from their roles in the military and transitioning into the role of students. This session will introduce the various insights and considerations related to adequately meeting the needs of this unique student population. Through lecture and discussion, the presenters will introduce the mental health, campus environment, academic and professional development issues facing student veterans and the faculty and staff that serve them. With particular attention to the various transitions that student veterans must navigate, the strengths and challenges that student veterans experience will be introduced.
