Supporting International Students:  Challenges and Opportunities

Yan Li, Ph.D.

Punita Gandhi, M.S.

March 19 at 4pm

The Multicultural Center

This Shrink is In session will focus on the experiences of Duke’s international students.  Styles of communication, value systems, language barriers, and the process of acculturation and adjustment all play a significant role in how international students experience their interactions with advisors, faculty, professionals, and peers here at Duke.  Dr. Yan Li and Punita Gandhi, M.S., will provide a helpful review of these issues and provide suggestions on how to create a supportive and welcoming environment and on how to gain the most of the inter-cultural opportunities we have because of the many international students who are part of our community.

Please consider registering so that we can estimate the number of people who will be attending.
