About Our Staff
CAPS is staffed by a variety of committed and highly professional individuals devoted to providing the highest quality mental health care and service to the Duke University community. The 14 full-time mental health professionals at CAPS, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and clinical social workers, all represent a diversity of age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and religious backgrounds, forming a group of professionals as sensitive to their own multicultural make-up as they are to the diverse community that they serve. Additionally, CAPS staff include dedicated professionals in various administrative and other support roles.
More than half of the clinical staff have been at CAPS for over 15 years with several staff members approaching 30 years of service. Their long-term service provides the entire staff with a deep connection to the history and tradition that informs the Duke student experience. In addition, the CAPS staff has grown with additions to this staff who more recently joined the creative and competent team of clinicians, ensuring additional perspectives that support and complement the overall efforts of the center. Together, this team of veterans and more recent arrivals maintains committed attention to the ever-evolving strengths and vulnerabilities of Duke students.Scroll down the list of staff to learn more about us and roles in serving the Duke Community.
