Mike McFarland, M.S., M.B.A. – Psychology Intern

Mike joined the CAPS staff in August of 2009 as a Psychology Intern. Prior to joining our staff, Mike completed his doctoral coursework and practica in Counseling Psychology at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.  Specifically, he served as a counselor at the University of North Texas Psychology Clinic and the University of North Texas Counseling and Testing Center.  Moreover, he served as a therapist with Parkland Hospital’s Consult Liaison Psychiatry Services.  He also served as a crisis counselor with the Dallas Suicide and Crisis Center for seven years.  In addition, he acted as a group leader for Survivors of Suicide support groups, which provide services for friends and family who have lost someone to suicide.

His special interests include individual and group psychotherapy, male body image and eating disturbances, and crisis intervention.
