Amelia Hube, MSW, LCSW - Clinical Social Worker and Referral Services Coordinator

Amelia is a Clinical Social Worker who joined the Duke University Counseling and Psychological Services team in September 2006. Prior to Duke, she provided counseling for victims of sexual trauma and relationship violence at the Durham Crisis Response Center. She received her Master of Social Work from Smith College in 2007 and is currently providing individual, couples, and group therapy at CAPS, while also serving as the agency’s Referral Services Coordinator.

Amelia’s research interests include exploring experiences of first-time parents in dual-career relationships. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the North Carolina Clinical Social Work Society, and the Carolinas Group Psychotherapy Society.

Her professional interests include relationships and sexuality, women’s issues, body image, trauma and abuse, spirituality, LGBT concerns, transitioning into parenthood, grief and loss, issues involving oppression, and financial counseling. Amelia is trained as a yoga instructor, and she enjoys incorporating mindfulness skills into her psychotherapy practice.
