Keeping It Real

Mondays October 19 and 26
6:30pm - 8:00pm

Room 217 Page Building

Being yourself, in a completely authentic way, may not always be a good idea.   However, seldom being yourself, feeling like you can’t or shouldn’t, eventually takes a toll on you.  This workshop will introduce students to some insights and ideas about the role of authenticity in their lives.  Whether you are somebody who has wondered about how difficult it sometimes can be to simply be yourself or whether you are simply interested in the topic, you're invited to attend this workshop.

Keeping it Real is ideal for student leaders, in particular those who strive to form and maintain caring communities.  The workshop will run for two sessions, including some activities and plenty of discussion.  There will also be a brief lecture component, reviewing research and psychological practice in the area of authenticity.   Most importantly, it's an opportunity to get to know yourself a little better and, hopefully, connect more deeply with other students.

This workshop is being facilitated by Gary Glass, Ph.D., Assistant Director of Outreach and Developmental Programming here at CAPS and Alexis Franzese, Ph.D, doctoral student in Department of Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience.

Food and Drinks will be served.   To register, click on the link below, so we know how many students to expect (and how much food to order!).
